Signed, titled, dated and inscribed by the artist on the mount below the image in pencil. This image shows a
crowd of Polish civilians watching as Julien Bryan's interpreter explains to a policeman that the strange-looking
man in the turned-up fedora is not a not a spy, but a photographer. Julien Bryan's film of the "Siege" of Warsaw
was released in 1940. He was the only photographer - film maker permitted to stay in Warsaw during the
German invasion of September 1939.
